Yaakov Kirschen

Based in Israel since 1971, Mr. Kirshen is renowned lecturer on Jewish and Is raeli issues a syndicated cartoonist in over 50 hard copy and on-line publica tions in North America. Kirschen's political and social commentary has been r eprinted or quoted by Forbes, the New York Times, the London Sunday Times, th e Wall Street Journal, the Guardian, Time Magazine, LA Times, Associated Pres s, CBS, CNN, and others. In 2009, Dry Bones cartoonist Yaakov Kirschen was made a “visiting fellow” and “artist in residence” of Yale University’s Initiative for the Interdis ciplinary Study of Antisemitism and Racism (YIISA). In 2010, Yale published K irschen’s ground-breaking working paper entitled “Memetics and the Viral Sp read of Antisemitism through “Coded Images in Political Cartoons”. In 2010 Kirshen was asked to present by Command of multi-national military force in Sinai. In 2011 in Jerusalem, Kirschen presented his YIISA “Secret Codes” fi ndings to the annual meeting of the “Conference of Presidents” of leading A merican Jewish Organizations.

Carice Witte

SIGNAL’s founder, is a graduate of Yale University in East Asian Studies wit h a focus on China. After a 20 year entrepreneurial career in Israeli high t ech and international real estate, Ms. Witte decided to merge her commitment to Israel, her respect for China and her belief that academia can provide a k ey to discovering creative approaches bringing greater stability to both Isra el and China. Ms. Witte spearheaded holding the first ever China-Israel acade mic event on China-Israel geopolitics. Ms. Witte’s organization has launched the first website presenting scholarly work about Israel and its people in t he Chinese language. SIGNAL is launching Israel Studies Programs at a few ke y universities across China. Ms. Witte has been President of the Yale Univer sity Alumni Association in Israel for over 8years, working closely with Yale’ s Provost, Peter Salovey, and other university leaders. Carice lives in Israe l with her husband and five children.
